 The state government will deposit a thousand rupees in the bank account of the 66 lakh poor, middle-class labor family - cardholders who get food grains under National Food Security Act - from Monday 20th April.  The decision was taken by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel on Saturday, Chief Secretary Ashwini Kumar said.

 The Chief Minister's Secretary said that in the lockdown, the poor and the working class did not suffer due to non-employment due to lack of employment, the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister have decided to provide Rs 1,000 in aid to the bank account of 66 lakh cardholders.  This amount will be deposited directly into the bank account of the beneficiaries from Monday, resulting in an additional burden of Rs 1 crore to the state government.  No one will have to fill out additional forms, etc. for this assistance, the amount will be deposited only on the basis of data available to the government.
